[Swoosh] Quick Look: The 2013 Brazil National Team Home Kit

Used for the first time in a friendly match against England earlier this month, the Brazil national football team is now decked in yet another new home jersey by Nike Football. Draped in the team’s signature yellow and green color scheme, the new kit somehow reminded me of classic football jerseys especially its collar design as well as its minimalism nature.

Nevertheless, it is still a modern jersey after all with the inclusion of features such as laser venting, bonded seams, hemline vents and Dri-FIT technology in order to provide performance benefits for modern football players. As usual, the jersey is matched together with a blue shorts, and white socks with green trim.

[Don't Sleep On This] Nike x Undefeated "Bring Back Pack" Lands At Juice KL On March 1, The Only Retailer in Southeast Asia

So, Kuala Lumpur is going to receive the Nike x Undefeated “Bring Back Pack” eh? That is rather unexpected. Nevertheless, listen up sneakers connoisseurs out there…expect massive crowd as Juice KL in Bangsar is the only retailer in Southeast Asia that has receive the honor to unleash the pack to the masses.

Just like many of Nike’s releases out there, there is indeed a story behind this pack. Apparently, Nike has presented 48 pairs of white-on-white-on-gum Nike Dunks to the folks at Undefeated as an act of good faith during the opening of the first Undefeated store in 2002. The Dunks were never released into the market…until now, like eleven years later.

Made of a Nike Dunk and Hyperdunk (both in the said white-on-white-on-gum colorway, with Undefeated’s iconic 5 strikes logo on it), the pack will be released at the outlet on this coming Friday, 1 March 2013 at noon. No pricing was mentioned for either of them though.

Nevertheless, have fun and good luck on copping them up!

[Chap At Large] The Day I Raced and Won Against Top Gear Korea Host…in A Video Game

It is not every day that you get to meet and race a Top Gear’s host. Ok, he might not be Clarkson, May or Hammond from Top Gear UK but nevertheless, Yeon Jung-hoon is still a host for Top Gear. Top Gear Korea, that is.

It took place at the media launch event for the premier of Top Gear Korea’s season 2 on KIX HD last month in which the host and actor flew all the way from South Korea to attend. I really didn't expect anything much because my assignment of the day was to learn what KIX HD has in store for Top Gear Korea season 2.

[Swoosh] Nike Flyknit Lunar1+: The First Nike Flyknit Shoe In Malaysia

When the Nike Flyknit tech was introduced to the world last February, it spawned two shoes: the Nike Flyknit Trainer+ and the Nike Flyknit Racer. Unfortunately, both of these shoes are not (yet) available in Malaysia; however, the newer Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ is now readily available in Malaysia.

Being the third shoe in Nike’s Flyknit family, the new Nike Flyknit Lunar1+ is a combination of Flyknit one-piece lightweight upper - which is designed to provide exceptional sock-like fit – and a plush, responsive Lunarlon-based midsole. Compared to the more hardcore Trainer+ and Racer, the Lunar+ 1 has more cushion and is clearly made to cater the needs of everyday runners.

[Swoosh] Quick Thoughts: The Nike Mercurial Vapor IX Football Boot - Speed Meets Control?

In Nike Football’s line of boots, the Mercurial series is generally designed for speed which is quite apparent through its general design philosophy that paid a lot of attention to lightweight structure and ground traction (remember the Nike SENSE dynamic extendable studs on Mercurial Superfly II?). That being said, it seems to me that Nike decides to pay some attention on a different element for the new Mercurial Vapor IX boots: control.

The reason why I said that is due to two features that Nike has included into the Mercurial Vapor IX: the new Speed Control texture on its upper as well as the boot’s All Conditions Control (ACC) technology.

[Reviews] Sound City – The Tale of A Legendary Recording Studio by Dave Grohl

Everyone knows Abbey Road, right? You know…that recording studio in UK that is greatly associated with The Beatles? The one with that zebra crossing? But how about Sound City? Have you heard of it?

I bet most of you never of the establishment. I’m guilty of that too – despite the fact I grew up to the sound of Nirvana’s Nevermind which was recorded in that very studio. Nirvana was not the only one though as there were tons of other great artists have recorded their materials there such as...

...Metallica, Rage Against The Machine, Slipknot, Weezer, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Queens of The Stone Age, Trent Reznor, Johnny Cash, Fleetwood Mac, Santana, Grateful Dead, Neil Young, Foreigner, Cheap Trick, Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers, Rick Springfield, Barry Manilow, Dio...my god, the list juts goes on and on and on...

How I eventually found out about Sound City? Well, few months ago I heard about this documentary that Foo Fighters’ frontman (and also the drummer of Nirvana), Dave Grohl is working on that aims to tell the story of the legendary studio with the help of the artists, producers and staff that have worked in the studio as well as great music that came out from Sound City.

Marking the debut of Dave Grohl as a film director, Sound City premiered yesterday in theatres as well as in the form of digital download through its official website. Priced at around RM 41 (USD 12.99), I decided to purchase the documentary and here is what I thought of it...
