My Top 3 List of Bohemian Rhapsody Parody

ChiefChapree - Image Hosted by
Queen - Ze legend!

Generally, when the name Queen is mentioned, many would remember these two songs: We Will Rock You and We Are The Champion. Music fans and older generations (like our parents maybe) would then say, "You n00bs, Queen got a lot more than those two..." and point out this legendary song: Bohemian Rhapsody.

True story there (hint: I'm the n00b). Anyway, due to its legendary status, the song or rather, the music video has been remade/spoofed lotsa time. From straight out hilarious to geeky, here are couple of my favorite Bohemian Rhapsody spoof.

Reviewed @ Lowyat.NET: AcBel 90W Name Card Universal Notebook Adapter

Image hosted by © 2009 / Photo by: Syefri Zulkefli.

Apart from writing about tech news on Lowyat.NET main page and gaming news on Multiplay.LYN, another part of my job is product reviews. I figured that, since I alrdy got this blog running comfortably, I might as well let you guys check out (or know the existence of) my reviews from time to time, right? *LOL*

So, here's the latest one I did - AcBel 90W Name Card Universal Notebook Adapter. Here's an excerpt from the article:

...what's with the "Name Card" in its name? It is actually a reference to its size which at 70 x 96 x 16 mm, is just slightly larger than a common business card. At 230g, the AcBel 90W Name Card Universal Notebook Adapter is also generally lighter than most OEM or third party notebook adapters out there...

Check it out in full HERE. Meahwhile, there are more reviews available HERE as well. Expect to see my reviews to be highlighted here whenever a new one is up there. :)

Proud of Harimau Malaya and I'm Telling Them Personally...

Signed and signed.

...via walls that Nike has setup at their Pavilion and Mid Valley flagship stores, of course. I can't meet them directly, man...I'll most probably become too star struck that would render me speechless, LOL. Happens to me all the time - as long as you fehmes to me, I'll be speechless in front of you.

I've signed the wall at Mid Valley, how about you? The team deserved this much, yo. The wall not gonna be around for long before they will be given to our heroes (and the new South East Asia champion), so check 'em out as soon as possible.

Tips: For Mid Valley branch, the markers usually located at the cashier counter. I also observed that there were not many national jersey left, so if you planning to cop one of them, prepare to be disappointed. My housemate also said the same thing about stocks in Pavilion.

Falling In Love With The Ole iPod Shuffle

Image Hosted by
Gotta love the metallic blue color...

Sometime ago, I won an iPod Shuffle (thanks again, Apple Malaysia! =D ) through a Facebook contest in conjuction with Apple Discovery Week V. However, before I went to collect it, I have no idea which Shuffle I would get. I was like, "Please please please be the latest one..." although in general, I actually loathe the Shuffle family, lol.

So, turned out that the Shuffle was a 2nd generation unit with only (according to today's standard) 1GB of disk space. Imagine how I felt, man...but hey, I'm not being ungrateful here. I was over the moon at Apple's office (APPLE'S OFFICE NI WEH!) when I collected it but you know, when it comes to things that you hate naturally, you just can't ditch the feeling easily.

But now it's all different. After getting used to it, I actually love it very much. In fact, more and more as the day gone by, just because of simple reasons - its size, strong clamps and nice big buttons on its body. These reason made it so convenient to use; just clamp it on my pants and off I go, whether during running, riding bike or just general listening.

That being said, I still hate the Shuffle range, even the latest generation. I just can't comprehend why would Apple put the controllers on its earphone. So, let's say you want to hook up a different set of earphones or headphone, you would be left without any abilities to control your Shuffle. Isn't that a hassle?

Sure, there are compatible adapters (such as this one from Belkin) but when it comes to Apple accessories (1st or 3rd party), you just got to prepare to pay premium moneh, man...

Happy Birthday and Thanks for the Free Coffee, Starbucks!

Image Hosted by

Yesterday, Starbucks Malaysia celebrated their 11th Anniversary. While they had a birthday party at Tropicana City Mall's branch last night, they shared the joy at all Starbucks throughout the country few hours earlier - by giving away free coffee from 11 am to 1 pm.

Since I missed the last Mid Valley branch's coffee sesh, I was determined not to miss this one. Turned out it doesn't take much effort, lol. I got my fix at their branch in Summit USJ, the nearest one to my home. There was virtually no queue when I picked up ze coffees at 11-ish am. But of course, I was not the first one since I saw a lot of patrons has already chilled out and enjoyed their free freshly brewed coffee.

Well, happy birthday to you dear Starbucks. Thanks for the coffee! I wish it was free iced latte (my favorite fix in the world!) though but anything goes as long as it's free hur hur hur XD

Oh yeah...if you are wondering how in the world me (and thousand of others) knew about the free kopis, it was through their Twitter. If you don't twit, they are on Facebook as well.

First Part Settle, To Be Continued Next Semester!

Image Hosted by
A smile of relief, post-presentation.

Am I supposed to do this on daily basis? Looks like I already missed out for three days. Let's patch it up.

Two days ago, I was scheduled to present the first part of my Final Year Project (FYP) - one of the two new "subjects" that I've yet to settle. What was the topic? I rather not state it here, not only because it's mouthful but its also something that I don't have any expertise on and I don't want anybody to mistake me to be a reference point. Let's just say that it involved audio - no chance of blowing something up.

The presentation went on unexpectedly well, compared to all the SNAFUs that happened en route to the presentation. First and foremost, I forgot I didn't stock any proper clothing (our organization roll around with dope t-shirts, baby), so I went back to my hometown to get it. In typical Chapree-way, I departed to campus very late which means I have to rempit all the way. Kesian my 5-year old scooter...

Anyway, yup, it was indeed a huge relief. Now, on to Sunday's paper on 8pm! Yup, at eight at night. The uni is out of their mind, I tell you.

Does Being Nice Worth It?

I really like the concept of the video above when I first saw it 2 - 3 months ago. To be honest, the world is not a place for a nice guy. Ever heard of the quote, "Nice guys finish last,"? It's (almost) true. Nice guys kena piak piak all the time.

However, what goes around, does come around...although the wait is a bitch. Also, you can bet your ass that the reward is definitely not Olivia Munn, like in the video. Man...

O hai world, I iz back (again)!

Setup in progress.

How long have I been missing from blogging world? Quite a while I or two years? Doesn't matter, welcome to my new home!

Some of you might knew that I blogged at www.ChapreeDaGrande.NET before. No, I'm not ditching that site, in case you wondering. According to my site's provider, the site have some server issue but yes, it already like that for far too long. For now, I just have no time to bug provider and even if he managed to get it fix, I don't have time to  setup the site again which badly needs a redesign.

Ah well, I guess I'm stuck here for the time being. Here, I'm back to square one once again as I'm new to Blogger's system, although this is not my first blogging platform (1st was Tripod and 2nd - the ran on WordPress).

Here's to my new blog. Hope to be able to rant here daily, so do visit often yah? Yosh, ikimashou!
